Our Health and Safety policy

We are committed to prevent injury and ill health to all our employees, customers, and suppliers. In our organisation, Stuart Massie has overall responsibility for Health and Safety. We have a legal obligation under the Health & Safety Work Act 1974 to provide a safe and efficient service for our customers and a safe & secure environment for our employees, sub-contractors and visitors.

To support this, we will:

Health

Smoking is not permitted throughout the common and work areas including offices and vehicles, in accordance with Smoking, Health and Social Care (Scotland) Act 2005. Smoking is only permitted during breaks in the designated location where provided by the customer.

Safety

Reduce accidents and incidents as far as reasonably practicable, learning from events to prevent reoccurrence.

• Provide employees with information, instruction and training as is necessary to ensure their health and safety at work.
• Ensure both general and regulation risk assessments are carried out, implement control measures and review as required to provide a safe place to work.

Performance

Ensure appropriate and timely training is conducted as identified.

Provide continual Improvement in all Occupational Health and Safety Management.

Communication

• Ensure all staff are aware of their Health and Safety roles and responsibilities, including the right and duty to positively intervene when unsafe acts are observed
• Consult with employees on all matters that affect their Health and Safety at work
• Ensure all employees are aware of their roles in an emergency.
